A bindi, pronounced ‘bin-dee’ is usually a decorative red dot or colourful sticker worn in the centre of the forehead between the eyebrows by women in the Indian Subcontinent traditionally symbolising the third-eye. However how it is also worn as a fun accessory and some of the stickers can act like rhinestones to decorate the face. The word stems from the Sanskrit word “bindu,” meaning drop or particle, bindis are known by various names across India, including kumkum, sindoor, teep, tikli, and bottu. This is the most common design worn and popular with Sabyasachi models and brides. This is part of the micro-bindi trend.
